About Gracie’s House

I’m Nicci, Owner & Creator of Gracie’s House. I am a passionate furniture artist and mum to Gracie.

We live in Bromham, a small village in Bedfordshire. I have been painting furniture for more than 5 years and I consider myself very lucky to love my job.

When it came time to upgrade from nursery to ‘big girl’ bedroom I decided I wanted furniture that no one else had, something individual, with more character. I’ve never looked back. When my husband and I got married in 2017 I arranged everything, my cake table was a vintage painted dressing table and we even signed the register on a desk I painted. I began to search for small pieces to paint and sell and it has grown ever since. I’m now hugely passionate about saving these vintage pieces from landfill. Vintage furniture can be refinished and painted to make it suit your life and you will have a more solid piece than a lot of what’s available to buy new now. 

Whether you prefer bright & bold, dark & moody or soft, subtle & airy I create a multitude of styles to suit your taste. I achieve a range of finishes from clean to distressed, I layer colours for added depth and interest and replace old tired hardware to match the new look.

All the paint I use is water based, with virtually no VOC’s and I strive to use as few chemicals as possible.
