Faded Granduer Pot Cupboard

Faded Grandeur Pot Cupboard

I'm not normally one for lots of grunge but this piece spoke to me!

I almost instantly had a vision. I picked the Floral Court transfer by Redesign with Prima first to fit into the inset panels on the sides. Then I selected a colour palette to work around the transfer. I went for Tea Rose, Sand Bar, Mud Puddle and Coffee Bean by Dixie Belle Paint.

As I worked with blending the 3 lighter colours I decided to add more coffee bean to really dirty up the corners. It created the perfect background for the Floral Court transfer. I had removed the hardware to polish but it turned out to be 2 different metals, so I cleaned and used Chalk Paste in Turkish Coffee and Art Alchemy Matte Wax in Rust Brown to create a uniform colour then highlighted with Art Alchemy Wax in Bronze Age.

Originally I decided not to add any transfers to the front as it already had nice details. However I couldn't resist so I added 1 of the pieces from the Kingsbury Medallions Mould and blended over with the mud puddle and tea rose. And highlighted again with the Bronze Age Art Alchemy Wax.

Finally I added Grunge Grey Best Dang Wax and Dixie Dirt in Earth to add an even more grungy and aged appearance. The piece is top coated in Flat Clear Coat.
